My Experience With ICOtec GC500 Game Call.
As I already said above, I am fond of ICOtec devices, I mean how budget-friendly and amazing they work in the field. So, I thought to use ICOtec GC500 game call, and here is my opinion on it.
I felt that the ICOtec GC500 game call is very compact and lightweight to use. I never felt it was bulky or it was taking too much of my time in operation. It is fast and works great with the amazing ergonomic remote controller.
When you first take the main unit out of the box, you will get only 24 different animal sounds but don’t panic, you can download up to 200 different animal sounds from the official ICOtec website absolutely free.
After analyzing it for a while I found out that ICOtec GC500 comes with one 15 watt speaker which is loud enough to cover a large area of a field. You can hear the sound coming out from the main unit from a long distance. But if you think the sound coming out of the main unit is not loud enough then you can use the audio jack to connect an external speaker, isn’t it great.
ICOtec GC500 game call has also an Auxiliary jack to attach a decoy with it but unfortunately, you will not get any decoy with the main unit. You have to buy one if you want separately. I personally recommend you to use one because it increases your chance of hunting.
I found out that the ICOtec GC500 game call main unit needs 4 AA batteries to operate, and the remote controller needs one 9 volt battery to operate. The batteries last longer than I expected it would be.
In-Depth ICOtec GC500 Review After 1 Month
The sound coming out of the ICOtec GC500 game call is loud and feels real. It is almost impossible to tell the difference between the real animal sound and the sound coming out of the ICOtec GC500 game call.
Just like the rest of the ICOtec devices, the ICOtec GC500 game call is packed with the 2 most important ports. One port is an audio jack and the other port is an Auxiliary jack. We can use an audio jack to connect an external speaker to the ICOtec GC500 game call for more noise. I only felt once to add an external speaker.
The Auxiliary jack is used to attach a decoy to the main unit. There is no decoy that comes with the box, you have to buy one if you need it.
Let me tell you about the amazing remote controller of the ICOtec GC500 game call. It is very easy to use and ergonomic made and comes with a backlit feature. It would take you around 2 minutes to understand the whole mechanism of the remote controller. The backlit feature helps you to see the remote’s button in the low light or in the night.
When I first use the device, I was only showing 24 sounds. I was quite not shocked not gonna lie but after some time, I found out that you can up to 200 different animal sounds from the official website without paying a single penny.
The build quality of the ICOtec GC500 game call is solid. Its design also attracts me. There is a remote holder in the main unit, which means you can attach the remote controller to the main unit. I really like this small detail, I usually find problems in keeping the remote controller safe when I am hunting.
The ICOtec GC500 game call takes 4 AA batteries to function whereas its remote controller takes one 9 volt battery to function. The main unit runs the whole day at a high volume without changing the batteries. Batteries last longer in the ICOtec GC500 game call.
The remote controller of the ICOtec GC500 game call has an amazing controlling range. You can control the main unit from a distance of 300 yards. But we hunters usually don’t go that far away from the main unit.
