My Experience With Primos Dogg Catcher 2 electronic predator call reviews

When I first open the box, I got the main unit itself with its remote control, a manual and a battery. I was curious about its weight because it was so compact that Primos Dogg Catcher game call main unit could literally fit in my hand. So, I weight it and it was around 2 pounds and 3.7 ounces with the batteries.

The main unit is fairly small and the remote controller stays with the main unit with the help of magnets and it doesn’t fall off when I’m carrying it with myself.

According to the company, the owner can control the main unit with its remote control at a distance of 150 yards but personally, I can easily control it at a distance of 200 feet and it just worked great.

Primos Dogg Catcher predator call device has only 12 animal sounds which kinda feel very low but if we compare it with the price, it is acceptable.

In the mail field of hunting, sounds coming out of the Primos Dogg Catcher is great in quality and fairly loud.

One feature I found odd that you can play 2 animal calls simultaneously. I didn’t feel the need of using this feature for my hunting.

Primos Dogg Catcher device’s stand was a plus point. In case you want to change the direction of the sound coming out of the main unit, you can do that with the help of the stand.

Let’s talk about the batteries, the main unit takes 4 AA batteries to operate and the remote controller takes one 23A battery which is a special type of battery.

Now, it’s a turn of the remote controller, the remote controller is sweet and rich with buttons, you will get separate 12 buttons for 12 different animal calls and 4 other buttons for different tasks. Its range to control the main unit is 150 yards but I had no problem in operating the Primos Dogg Catcher device at a distance of 200 feet, it worked great.

Oh! I forgot to tell you that when you turn on the device by pressing the power button a bright red light glows which is not a good thing I guess.

The last thing I would like to mention before moving to the next part of the review of Primos Dogg Catcher is that the main unit is weather resistant but not waterproof so keep it safe.

In-Depth Primos Dogg Catcher Electronic Predator Call Review

Sound Quality

I have to admit, the sound coming out of the main unit is very realistic and fairly loud, you might not need an external speaker for your hunt in a larger area either.

Connectivity

This is where the Primos Dogg Catcher predator call disappointed me. It doesn’t have any kind of connectivity options like if I want to connect an external speaker for louder noise, I can’t, or if I want to connect a decoy for a better hunting experience, I can’t because it doesn’t have any type of ports.

Remote Control (Primos Dogg Catcher Remote Battery)

The remote controller of Primos Dogg Catcher device is great, man. It has a total 16 number of buttons on it. 12 buttons are for separate animal calls and 4 for other functions like navigation button, volume up and down, pause/play button, or power button.

Animal Sound

Let’s talk about the animal sound of the Primos Dogg Catcher device. You are getting 12 different animal sound calls, isn’t it pretty low? But the more let down point is, you can’t add new sounds either. But let me honest, at this price range, we all shouldn’t complain. Anyways, here is the list of all 12 different animal sound below:

  • Interrogations Howls
  • Female Invitation Howls
  • Coyote Serenade
  • Adult Coyote Distress [Ki-Yi]
  • Coyote Pup Distress
  • Cottontail Distress
  • Baby Cottontail Distress
  • Jackrabbit Distress
  • Baby Jackrabbit Distress
  • Baby Fawn Distress
  • Rodent Distress
  • Woodpecker Distress

Build Quality

Build quality of the Primos Dogg Catcher is good. The body of the main unit has solid durability but I would like to point out one thing and that is the Antenna of the main unit. The Antenna of the main unit kind of flimsy. It doesn’t stick at one position after multiple uses.

2 Animal Calls Simultaneously

This feature got my attention, Primos 3759 Dogg Catcher electronic predator caller can play 2 calls simultaneously. It is an interesting feature, although, I didn’t feel the need of using it but let me know if you guys somehow use this feature for your hunting.

Design & Portability

The design of the Primos Dogg Catcher device is pretty sweet, you can cover the whole unit with your hands which makes this device very portable. The total weight of the main unit with the batteries is around 2 pounds and 3.7 ounces. Primos Dogg Catcher is weather resistant not waterproof so you have to be quite careful while using it.
